I had a fantastic stay at Downtown Hostel in Ella. I stayed for one night and it was the best night I had in Ella. The property manager, Shehan, is absolutely kind-hearted and very helpful. The beds were super clean and comfortable, and the toilets were also clean. The hostel has a spacious kitchen that I was allowed to utilize. The location is great, just a one-minute walk from the main road and train station, yet you can't hear anything from the main road. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the owner organizes activities like waterfall visits and cooking classes. Highly recommended.

Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

The hostel is located in a prime location, close to the main road and train station, but still surrounded by nature. The dorm rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are spotless and cleaned daily. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, especially the owner who goes above and beyond to ensure a great experience. The kitchen is clean and guests are allowed to utilize it as much as they want. The common area is a great place to mingle with other guests. The breakfast is delicious and cooked fresh in front of you. Free tea and coffee are available all day. Lots of activities and tours are offered, making it easy to explore the area. the hostel provides a clean and comfortable environment for a memorable stay.

From the moment we walked into Downtown Hostel, we knew we were in for a fantastic stay. The warm welcome from Shehan made us feel right at home. We were lucky to participate in the cooking class they offer, where Shehan and his family taught us all about local ingredients and spices. It felt like a family dinner, which was such a delightful experience. The dorms were spacious and the beds remarkably comfortable. Plus, the hot water in the shower was a much-appreciated luxury. The hostel is centrally located, making it convenient to explore the town. Shehan, the owner, was always available to answer any questions and help organize our trips. I highly recommend Downtown Hostel for an incredible stay in Ella.

We stayed in one of the rooms at Downtown Hostel Ella and it was just perfect for our family. The private bathroom was clean and had all the amenities we needed, including a bidet and a hairdryer. The bed linen was fresh and made us feel cozy and comfortable.

That our room didn't have garden views. But hey, that's just our personal preference and some people might actually enjoy a different view.
